In the reading passage 'where does your name come from?'.The author covers the issue of names.names are our identities.In our daily lives,while interacting with other people,we generally call their names and they call us by our names.In the reading passage,autor gives us some different examples from various cultures.For instance,ı have found that in ındonesıa,generally people have just one name.ı learn that,generally famıly names come from an individual's name of his/her living place.The most interesting thing for me in this passage is that,in korea,there is a belief that a person ought not to marry a person with the same last name.This a problematic and foolish issue because this means that if you love a person who has same last name with you,you cannot worry because of a tranditional belief.while naming children,political events also effect the decision of parents for naming their child.Writer mentions Barack Obama's election and how his presidency affects American people in naming their child.Secondly,in thatreadingpassage,author covers the issue of changing names.ı learned that people generally change their names when they change their religion.And also when people become famous,they change their names.Also immigrants decide to change their names which were suitable for the new religious and ethnic culture.Thirdly,names have a significant role in each part of our lives.One of the part is 'business'.In business life each company searchs for a enchanting and creative names for their companies in order to get attention from consumers.Name of a company is important for company's status.Author gives us the example of 'BMW'.Sometimes companies come out with very interesting names and that makes customers to think about it is meaning and curious about it.
