We read texts about borders in last two weeks. Now, it is time to reflect on them. You are going to write your reflections as the comments to this post!
Borders separates the between countries.Long ago,there were no national borders.People moved freely from place to place.Now,countries have national borders.National borders are where one country ends and another country begins.There are two kinds of national borders.The first kinds is a physical border.Physical borders between countries can be rivers,mountains or oceans.For example,the Pyrenees Mountains are physical border between Spain and France.Another example,the Rio Grande River is between Mexico and the United States.The second kind of border is a political border.Political borders are lines between countries but governments decide.The political borders of many North African countries are a good example of this.Governments want to control their borders.They want to decide who is coming into their country purpose of political borders.As time progresses,there is wall.For example,Great Wall in China,Hadrian's Wall in England or Berlin Wall in Germany.I want to explain Berlin Wall.Berlin Wall was built after World War 2 by the Soviet Union because Soviet Union want to separate Germany and East and West Germany became separate.The Soviet Union controlled East Germany.People could still travel between East and West Berlin.However,the Soviet Union wanted to stop this.The purpose of this wall was not to stop invaders.It was to prevent the people of East Berlin from leaving and East German guards killed some of these people.More than one hundred people were killed trying to cross the border before the Berlin Wall came down in 1989.Other kind of border is a fence.Fence is a wire but nowadays many fence is an electronic.Electronic fence is a group of computers and cameras that is can tell the guards when people are crossing the border,so the guards can stop them.The United States continues to build both physical and electronic fences.

People could travel freely all around the world long time ago.Now, countries have borders and people, who wants to travel , have to show required documents to enter a country.These borders are called national borders.There are two kinds of national borders.Physical borders can be mountains , rivers etc.Political borders are the borders which government decide.Governments want to control their borders.There are several reasons why they want to control their borders.The first reason is the tax.If people buy something from another country, they have to give tax for that.The second reason is governments don't want to take dangerous people in their country.Another thing which is important for countries is shore.The international law says a country has legal right within 13.8 miles (22.2 kilometers). They can use natural resources such as fish and oil.We can say the same things for air.If a plane wants to come into the country, the plane must ask permission first.In the past countries had wall to secure their national borders.By walls they could control who is leaving country and who is coming the country.The Great Wall of China is one of the best examples of walls.Today there are no walls to control national borders.The walls are electronic now.The computers and cameras are controlling the borders.The guards can stop people by using this equipments.What do we need to travel to another country? First we need passport then a visa.Most countries want visa from the people who wants to come.There are different types of visas such as student visa, tourist visa etc.The guards use electronic equipments to check if passports and visas are real or fake.The fingerprint and the iris scan are the technologies which the guards use.What will happen in the future to control national borders.It is early to say but some people think that the national borders will be less important and people can travel freely again.ın the lıght of the things that have been mentioned above,borders are crucial.It is a very well-known fact that there will be always borders but the question is 'Will the borders be important as they are now ?'
